Top 3 ways YOU can combat inflation: Inflation is Top 3 ways YOU can combat inflation:

Inflation is the general increase in the prices of goods and services in an economy over time. Simply put, you have to spend 8.3% more (on average) to buy the same goods vs. this time last year.

1️⃣INVEST! The S&P 500, which comprises about 500 of America's largest publicly traded companies and is considered the benchmark measure for annual returns, has had an average return of about 10% per year for nearly the last century.

So store your emergency fund in your savings account (because you always want to be able to access that at a moment's notice), but use your extra cash to invest to at least have a shot at earning a return higher than inflation. You can do this a few different ways:
✅ increase your 401k contributions
✅ open up a roth IRA
✅ open up a taxable brokerage account

Check out my investing 101 Instagram guide (by tapping on the book icon next to the reels icon on our profile) to learn how to get started investing.

2️⃣ Negotiate a raise! I always recommend starting these conversations by clearly showing the VALUE that you have contributed to the organization over the last 6-12 months. Have you taken on additional responsibilities? Do some research on similar roles in your area and companies your size. The more legwork you do up front, the more successful you'll be!

3️⃣Cut Costs. This is never fun, and you can only cut costs so much, but it's an easy place to start. If you are able to cut costs in the areas where inflation is high, that's even better.

Loss aversion is what every investor faces as the market climbs up and tumbles down day-in and day-out.

It takes incredible self control not to log into your investment account and sell to try to “avoid” further potential losses. But the best way to combat this is to have a long term view for your investments. Zoom out and see the bigger picture. Over the last 100 years, the market has seen incredible volatility, but has also gone up on average 10% each year!

There’s going to be volatility. Know it, expect it.

Retinol and retirement savings: two of my favorite Retinol and retirement savings: two of my favorite things 😍

It really is true for both, the earlier you start, the better off your skin will be, and the more time your investments will have to compound. You know what else is true? They can both cause irritation 🤪

To be a long term investor, you can’t worry about the short terms volatility of the market, but instead, set your sights on the long term benefit of buying and holding.

Where are my retinol and retirement girls at?! 🙋‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏿‍♀️

I like to take some time on Sundays to zoom out and look at our “whys.” What’s the point of all of our day to day actions if we aren’t sure of why we’re doing them?

Ask yourself questions like:
✅what goals make you truly excited?
✅why do you live below your means?
✅why do you work in the career you’re in?

Keeping the answers to these types of questions top of mind throughout your week, can help you make meaningful progress towards your goals.

[COMMENT BELOW]: what’s your why?!
